Atlas Shingle Repair: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Atlas shingle repair in Orlando typically runs $325 – $680 installed, depending on how many shingles are compromised and whether the underlayment beneath them has taken water. We keep Atlas-compatible shingles on our trucks along with matching sealants and fasteners, so most jobs are done in a single visit. Homeowners usually discover the problem the hard way: a shingle in the yard after a storm, a water stain on the ceiling, or granules collecting in the gutters. By the time Atlas shingles show visible damage, water has often been working its way beneath the surface for weeks.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To
We repair the full Atlas asphalt shingle lineup: Pinnacle Pristine, Pinnacle Sun, StormMaster Shake, StormMaster Slate, GlassMaster, and the newer Atlas HP42 series. The compatibility gotcha with Atlas is the exposure width. Atlas architectural shingles are milled for a 5-5/8″ exposure, which differs slightly from some competitor lines. If a roofer patches with the wrong exposure, the repair looks wrong and can channel water instead of shedding it. When we arrive, we pull a single shingle and check the nailing strip and sealant line against the replacement before we commit to the patch.
OEM Atlas shingles give you the truest color match, and for a roof that’s under ten years old, OEM is almost always the right call. After ten years of Florida sun, the original shingles have faded enough that even a perfect factory match looks like a patch. In those cases we use a quality aftermarket equivalent blended across a slightly larger area so the eye doesn’t catch the seam. Grant Whitlock taught us to treat Atlas repairs as a color-matching job first and a fastener job second, because the details are what separate a durable patch from one that fails in eighteen months.

Signs Your Atlas Shingle Repair Is Failing
- Granules in the gutter or at downspout exits. Atlas shingles shed granules as they age, but a sudden heavy accumulation means the asphalt mat is breaking down faster than normal. Orlando’s afternoon UV makes this worse on south-facing roof slopes.
- Lifted or flapping shingle corners. The heat-activated sealant strip on Atlas shingles can lose its bond after repeated thermal cycling. Once corners lift, wind gets under the shingle and starts peeling entire courses.
- Visible cracks or splitting along the shingle face. Atlas shingles are built with a fiberglass mat, but years of expansion and contraction in Florida’s humidity swing can fatigue the material. Cracks usually show up near the middle of the shingle first.
- Water staining on ceilings or in the attic after heavy rain. A failed shingle seal lets water run sideways under adjacent shingles. By the time you see the stain inside, the decking below is usually damp too.
- Missing shingles after a storm. This is the obvious one. But we check the surrounding area closely, because when one Atlas shingle blows off, the two on either side have typically lost seal strength as well and are the next to go.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a typical Atlas shingle repair in Orlando involving four to eight shingles, expect $325 – $480 installed. If the repair requires cutting out and replacing a section of underlayment or a piece of flashing, plan for $500 – $680. The range depends on roof pitch, how many courses are involved, and whether we’re matching an older Atlas color that requires blending.
Every price is written before work starts, no exceptions. That number includes the shingles, sealant, fasteners, and labor. If we uncover decking damage, we stop and walk it through with you before another dollar is spent. And every Atlas repair we make carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s not a vague guarantee. It’s 365 days, in writing, on every job.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things from the ground: missing shingles, lifted corners you can see from the yard, and granules at the gutter downspout. What you shouldn’t do is get on an Orlando roof in July. The surface temperature on an asphalt shingle roof in midday heat regularly exceeds 140 degrees, and a single wrong step on a moisture-compromised deck can put a foot through the ceiling below.
Atlas repairs on anything beyond a single flat, easily accessible shingle usually go wrong in one of three ways: the exposure doesn’t line up, the sealant never bonds because the roof is too hot or too dirty, or the nails get driven too deep and create a new leak. If you’re unsure, call us at (850) 757-3564. We’ll send someone out to look, give you a written price, and you decide from there. No obligation to proceed.
FAQs
Atlas architectural shingles are rated for a 30-year to lifetime warranty, but Orlando’s climate means real-world lifespans of 18 – 25 years before repairs become frequent. UV exposure, thermal cycling, and summer storms accelerate wear on the sealant strips faster than the manufacturer’s northern-climate testing suggests. If your roof is over 15 years old and you’re doing repeat Atlas shingle repairs, it’s worth having us evaluate the whole roof rather than chasing patches.
In most cases, yes. A single cracked, lifted, or missing Atlas shingle can usually be replaced without touching the surrounding roof. The exception is when the underlying underlayment has been compromised for long enough to rot the decking. That’s a structural issue, not a shingle issue, and we’ll show you photos of what we found before recommending anything. Call (850) 757-3564 and we’ll tell you if a simple patch will do it.
Most Atlas shingle repairs take one to two hours on site. The work itself is straightforward: remove the damaged shingle, inspect the area beneath, install the replacement with the correct nailing pattern and sealant, and clean up. The bulk of the time is spent on the color match and making sure the repair area blends with the surrounding roof. We schedule Orlando repairs in a single visit, and you’ll know the price before we start.
We keep common Atlas colors and profiles on our trucks in Orlando, specifically the Pinnacle and StormMaster lines in shades most popular across the Orlando market. For unusual colors or discontinued runs, we source from local distributors within a day or two. We also work with GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed when the situation calls for a different brand match. If you can tell us the shingle color name or snap a photo, we can often tell you on the phone whether we’ll have it with us.
